Established in 1912, Hutchinson Builders is one of Australia’s largest privately –owned building companies. Hutchies, as it is affectionately known by staff, sub-contractors and the industry, is a company which has been known and respected within the building scene for four generations.
Celebrating its 100th year, Hutchinson has a collective pride in knowing that it has given a century of service to the Australian construction industry. Hutchinson Builders now has an annual turnover of $1 billion and, proudly awarded ‘Australian Employer of the year in 2011, employs 1,200 staff.
Over the years, projects undertaken by the company have included warehouses, offices, retail outlets, private school, churches, hospitals, industrial buildings, tourist attractions and, more recently, housing. Hutchinson has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Tasmania, and has undertaken international projects in New Zealand, Canada and Japan.
